Fort Lauderdale has become famous as Spring Break headquarters. The antics of Spring Break events are a good reason to go to Fort Lauderdale if you are a college student or young adult. Some of the hotels and motels throw poolside parties. It's my obervation that the best parties are at the hotels on the south part of the beach. The scenic view of the beautiful beach and the palm trees that line the road which goes along the beach are famous. Most people who go to Fort Lauderdale will also take a trip south to nearby Miami Beach.
Comments: Fort Lauderdale was really nice. The better hotels were a bit pricy. Check out Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, just to the north of Fort Lauderdale for a fabulous beach vacation with nice hotels.
