I am the “Mad Mapmaker” at Hotel Maps USA. I have earned the moniker from working, by myself, all night and all day on this hotels project. I need a vacation, and have certainly earned one. I’m sure you need one, too. You’ve come to the right place to do some trip planning!

November 2006 Update
I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, and this has been a lot of work. I’m impoverished and not paying myself until this site starts getting more reservations. I’m tired, and starving, but I really love the results of this hotels mapping project! This will eventually be worth all the work. Some of the remarks below are no longer valid, but it’s all good news. I’ll keep them, like a weblog, so that I can look back on these long, difficult days.
     I’m way ahead of schedule! I thought I’d only have maps of all the major cities of America done by now. Instead, I’m done mapping and now I’m working on the web site portion of the project in order to display them. I figure I have created about 15,000 hotel maps! I have completed hotel maps for all cities with hotels in the USA. Additionally, I made over 8,000 maps for places like Disneyworld, and lots of race tracks. I’ve had to supe up my computer hardware, and had to get away from some of the manual routines in favor of some original automated programs I wrote. What a learning experience this has been! There is still a lot that is done manually.
     I don’t recommend undertaking any project this huge, by yourself, unless you’re very determined and completely dedicated to it. The project is doing so well that I have finished up maps for hotels in all cities in Canada. Things are starting to get exciting! I liked the results of the Florida Keys hotels map, so much, I had to get it embedded into this site to display it for all to enjoy! (The map is so gorgeous because the Florida Keys are. I’d love to visit there again some day). After getting back to the workings of this website, which is starting to look great, I’ll be adding more and more hotel maps!

Welcome to Hotel Maps USA. We have developed a series of excellent hotel maps, because we believe it is very helpful for business travelers and vacation travelers to see where hotel accomodations are located. If you are looking for a hotel near the airport, convention center, ski mountains, or the beach, the hotel maps will let you instantly see the closest hotels.

Locations of hotels are very important, but there are other reasons for choosing a good hotel, as well. For this reason, the hotel maps we developed are deep-linked to our favorite hotel reservation system, Hotels.Bays.Us, so that with just the click of your mouse you can obtain a description of the hotel. With another click of the mouse, you can find such things as nearby attractions, nearby cities, hospitals, museums, famous landmarks, and other hotels in the city which are owned by your favorite hotel chains. Please note that many of these hotel reservations will accept a wide variety of hotel discounts.
 

This project is not the efforts of a hotel chain. It is the efforts of one independent mapmaker seasoned traveler, with no preferential treatment for any particular hotel chain. The selection of worldwide hotels at Hotels.Bays.US totals more than 50,000 hotels. This work is mostly manual for better quality, so work to map all USA Hotels will continue for at least a year. As new maps are created, they are added to the Hotel Maps Index.

HOTEL MAPS USA IS PROJECTED TO BE A 1-2 YEAR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT. IT TAKES A WHILE TO CREATE THE MAPS. EVEN IN THE FIRST WEEK, WHEN ONLY A HANDFUL OF MAPS WERE CREATED, THEY PROVED TO BE BENEFICIAL TO MANY TRAVELERS.
DUE TO WIDE DISCREPANCIES OVER EXACT LOCATIONS, THE HOTELS ON THESE MAPS ARE ALL PLOTTED BY A HUMAN AND SCREENED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE ACCURACY OVER MORE AUTOMATED MAPPING TECHNIQUES FOUND ELSEWHERE. AS A RESULT, THE GARBAGE IN - GARBAGE OUT FACTOR IS MINIMIZED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. APPROXIMATELY 97% OF THE HOTEL LOCATIONS ARE ACCURATE TO WITHIN 100 YARDS. PLEASE BE ADVISED THERE WILL BE OCCASIONAL ADDRESSES WHICH ARE LESS ACURATE, SO IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO DOUBLE-CHECK WITH THE HOTEL.

the easiest way to stay close, in Daytona Beach, Myrtle Beach, and more.

MYRTLE BEACH HOTELS : There are so many Myrtle Beach hotels, they needed two maps. The first Myrtle Beach Hotels map has a link on it, called More Myrtle Beach Hotels, which links to the second Myrtle Beach Hotels map. Both Myrtle Beach hotels maps connect to North Myrtle Beach Hotels, Surfside Beach Hotels, Charlotte SC Hotels, and Hilton Head Island Hotels. Hotel maps now cover all South Carolina beach hotels from Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, all the way to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and Virginia Beach Hotels in Virginia. Also, there are maps for Florida beach hotels focused on Daytona Bike Week and Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale. There is also a new map for hotels in Daytona Beach Shores.

Progress this week:
There was a second map added for Daytona hotels. It is aptly called More Daytona Hotels. There are some Ormond hotels and New Smyrna Beach hotels on the map. In time for Spring Break, check out the Fort Lauderdale Hotels Map. A map for Orlando hotels will be available this week.
As soon as new hotel maps are created they get published at the hotel maps index.
If you are looking for hotels in any USA city, there are thousands at our worldwide HOTELS site. As hotel maps for the cities are created, they will be published in the hotel maps index.
There is a set of new maps for Myrtle Beach hotels. There are 2 maps for Myrtle Beach, one for Surfside Beach SC, and one for North Myrtle Beach.
The first map for the San Francisco Bay Hotels and San Francisco Hotels has been completed. The San Francisco Bay map shows all the cities around the bay. Currently, there are detailed maps for hotels in San Francisco and Daly City. Oakland will follow soon. They do include Oakland and Palo Alto, but do not include San Jose as a second set of hotel maps will be needed. Napa Valley will follow.
I love La Jolla! If you’ve never been there, you haven’t seen the prettiest little coastal town in the San Diego area. A detailed hotel map for La Jolla has been completed. It shows attractions such as the stadiums where the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Padres play.
Speaking of California, there is a hotel map for the California Speedway. Hotels closest to Nascar and other race tracks will be easy to find. There is also a detailed map for Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC and for Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol TN. There will be a seperate map, just for Charlotte NC Hotels, but for now, the Lowes Motor Speedway already shows many Charlotte Hotels. See Speedway Hotels.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway hotels map shows hotels closest to the speedway, and also includes a very good Las Vegas Hotels map of the famous Las Vegas strip with all the Las Vegas Casinos.
The first Texas hotels map has been completed. It has all the major cities in Texas. There is a detailed map for Houston hotels.
The Wisconsin hotels map has been completed. The first city in Wisconsin to get a detailed hotel map is Kenosha. Kenosha was selected because it is between Milwaukee and Chicago. Milwaukee and Green Bay will be following shortly. The Wisconsin map has links to Chicago Hotels and Saint Paul Minneapolis Hotels.

If we have not yet developed a hotel map for your city, please visit again soon as we will soon have hotel maps for all the greater metropolitan areas in the USA. We will eventually have hotel maps for all of the United States of America! Please note. Even if the hotel map has not been created yet, HOTEL.BAYS.US already takes hotel reservations for hotels throughout the entire USA!
