Concord is home to Lowes Motor Speedway. It is just north of the city of Charlotte, a major city with great nightlife.
In addition to being NASCAR territory, with many of the drivers living in Kannapolis or at Lake Norman, there are some excellent colleges.
Charlotte will be the future site of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Additional building in the area is another Research Park. The loss of textile
work to overseas has put some money into textile executive pockets but devastated working class families. Hopefully, the area will see a boon
with the Research Park footed by Dole of Dole pineapple fame. Meanwhile, Concord is awesome, as is Charlotte, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway,
now known as Lowes Motor Speedway.
Note to Jr: I'm a big fan, and hope you win the Nextel Cup! However, those "next generation" commercials make me want to vomit. Did you get duped into making
that commercial? The loss of all those textile jobs to overseas is NOTHING TO CELEBRATE for the working folk. It may have put some money into the
pockets of some executives, but it devastated hundreds of families who worked in textiles for generations. It will be a long time before they can
even afford a pair of those jeans made overseas. Did you talk with families who are still out of work and hungry before you made that ad?
