Rockingham is home to The Rock, Rockingham Dragway. The dragway is popular, and has an AHDRA (All Harley Drag Racing) event every year. Rockingham Motor Speedway, across the street is a wonderful race track, which was in better condition than some race tracks, but its' no longer on the NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit. There is not much else in the area unless you head towards Southern Pines. If you ride through Rockingham at night, everything is closed down except the local donut shop. Hmmm, that might (?) explain part of the NASCAR decision to stop holding Nextel Cup races in Rockingham.
