Pinehurst is world famous for golfing. It hosts the Pinehurst Open golf tournament. The Pinehurst area is also Horse Country, with many horse farms.

Comments: I used to live on a horse farm in nearby Vass NC, with a 5 acre lake in the front yard. This is beautiful country. A lot of the people who live in the area are what some people might call Rednecks. In some cases, they would be correct but mostly they are farm boys and farm girls. There are lots of great golf courses in the area. For the best restaurants, and shopping, you might want to go to Route 1 in Southern Pines.
